Who is La Petite Sara?

Hi, I'm Sara! A French pastry chef and the heart behind La Petite Sara. I've been baking since I was 8 years old, and patisserie has always been my way of sharing love, creativity, and joy with others.

La Petite Sara is a brand new chapter I’ve started here in Perth, created simply with passion. My goal is to bring beautifully crafted, high-quality French-style desserts to everyone. Whether you’re hosting a high-end event, planning a cozy high tea, or just curious to try something new I want to be able to cater to you.

What is your process?

I work mostly with natural ingredients and fresh fruit, and I like to let the natural sweetness of each ingredient shine through. It’s a style I’ve always loved: gentle, balanced, and respectful of the original flavors. If you’ve ever had a strawberry candy, you know it tastes nothing like a real strawberry. That’s because of how much sugar and processing goes into it.

In my work, I try to do the opposite: to highlight the real taste of the ingredients, just as you would find in a typical French market, and I’m excited to share that taste with Perth.

Why are your desserts different?

For my wedding & birthday cakes, I use whipped cream instead of buttercream and lighter cake bases inspired by Japanese and Korean patisseries, so they feel light, not heavy.

I keep true French authenticity in how I handle flavour, presentation and in the recipes I use for fillings: classic French creams, custards, fruit compotes, ganache.

I also respect dietary needs, having grown up around people with various restrictions I want to make sure alternate versions are just as delicious, without compromising texture, flavor or the experience of the original dessert (as that can often be the case).

What’s next?

Right now, it’s just me, a sole trader with a big dream, a love for learning, and a passion for creating meaningful food. I also offer macaron classes, wholesale options, and am always looking for ways to grow and connect with more people through my work.

At the end of the day, I just want to make people smile and share my passion.
